The two day course will take place on February 15 and February 16 2024. All other dates will be arranged in class.

Students can enroll until February 12 2024.

Description (max. 300 characters):

During the block lessons, students will learn the following:

  1. Writing Basics: paragraphs, punctuation and sentences
  2. Types of argumentation
  3. Audience analysis
  4. Emphasizing information
  5. Documenting sources
  6. Collaborative Writing and Peer Review
  7. Editing and Proofreading

Other topics that could be addressed involve submission planning, and article development. The course will be conducted using an interactive style that expose students to writing examples. The lessons will be conducted through part lecture and part workshop. Students will be taught using both inductive and deductive approaches to writing and communication.  

During the coaching sessions, students will meet with the instructor once or twice per month to present and discuss their progress on each of the four assignments. The coaching sessions may be online over Zoom.

Contents and Learning Objectives:

This course will teach students to write English academic papers. It will prepare students to write and publish academic and scientific journal articles as well as master's theses. Students will focus on writing:

  • Literature reviews (summaries, and paraphrasing),
  • Methodologies and results,
  • Discussions and Conclusions,
  • Abstracts

Admission: If there are fewer than three registrations, then the course will only consist of coaching. If there are more than four registrations, the block lessons will run as planned.

Course material will consist of slides and other media.


Students should have a B2 level in English or higher.
